Involvement
When most people think of small business they
do not think of community involvement. Usually small businesses
are just trying to grow and maintain, stay above water. While
they may personally care, their business model does not support
it.
We at Squeak E Clean, feel that a portion of the work we
do, should be to support the issues that are important to us.
Education, mentoring and cancer awareness are a few of items
of importance to us.
Recently, we did some "cleaning for
a reason" cleaning the homes of terminally ill cancer patients.
We're the flagship sponsor for Domingo's Walk~Breakfast
for Life centered on Oral Cancer Awareness. We've been panelists for 100
Strong Who Care and mentors for Big Brothers/Big
Sisters, and
supporter of Women's Advocates.
I share this not to tout our
involvement but to demonstrate that businesses, their owners
and operators can make time not just to create jobs but to help
change the world we live in for the better.
